Tour de Chiang
Today had it all.
We sat atop elephants in the jungle, and sat behind oxen in the village. We drifted serenely on a bamboo raft, and bungy jumped from a 150-ft crane. We saw filthy mountains of elephant dung and beautiful sets of stationary made from it. We were in awe by monkeys slam-dunking and elephants that could paint better than Nick can (though that’s not saying much). Flowers for Mom at the orchid farm, and ties for Dad at the night market. Nick and I danced with Kee at dinner, while puns with her name never got old.
It was one of those days we acknowledged would be blatantly touristy, and milked for all its worth.
And, for the record, Nick and I are getting dangerously good with a crossbow.
